On GOP wins Senate seat for MA

This was a pleasant surprise: Scott Brown (R) wins a national senate seat for the true blue state of Massachusetts!

Here's a link to the Wall Street Journal:

Wow, I can't believe it. He won a five point victory or so. Combine this with the local wins in the Virginia and New Jersey, and I'm starting to get infected with a little Tea Party enthusiasm. Still, I think it's better if I keep myself merely hopefully optimistic. No point in getting carried away now.

Democrats in Washington got set blaming the loss on his opponent Martha Coakley (D) and claimed that her campaign didn't try hard enough. Coakley responded by placing the defeat squarely on the shoulders of Democrats in Washington, saying that they gave her feeble support, didn't pay attention to the signs of a closer margin than anticipated, and basically came in too little, too few, too feeble, too apathetic, and too late.

Still, bravo to Massachusetts, Republicans & Independents alike, Americans, and yes, Scott Brown.

Scott, best of wishes and no matter what, just keep on truckin'.
